Covid-19 update.

FOUR days have now elapsed since the most recent case of Covid-19 was recorded in the NHS Highland area.

The region's number of positive tests since the start of the pandemic remained unchanged on 381 when the daily update was announced at 2pm.

There were only four new positive tests across the whole of Scotland in the past day.

And the country's recent run of days without any fatalities continued, with no additional deaths reported among people who have tested positive.

The entire north of Scotland has also registered no new positive tests for the coronavirus for the past three days in a row, with NHS Grampian (1445 overall cumulative cases), NHS Tayside (1785), NHS Shetland (54), NHS Orkney (nine) and NHS Eileanan Siar (seven) all reporting unchanged totals this afternoon.

Nationally, the number of people being treated in hospital who have tested positive for the virus fell slightly – down to 264 from 270 yesterday. And only two of those were in intensive care last night.
