Footballer grabbed opponent by neck and bit his ear during match in Inverness

A footballer who bit an opponent during a match will be sentenced next month.

Alexander Mackay (30), of Telford Road, Inverness admitted seizing Jordan Bowie by the neck and biting him on the ear to his injury and permanent disfigurement.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard the assault took place at Culloden playing fields on August 14 last year.

Sheriff Gary Aitken deferred sentence for background reports until November 26.
