Flights to take-off between France and Inverness
A French businessman has announced his plans to launch a flight between the Highland capital and France.
According to Maxime Ray, owner of newly founded Lorient Aircraft, there will be three flights a week between Inverness Airport and Lorient South Brittany Airport.
These will operate as corporate flights for business travellers, with the remaining being sold to non-business travellers "for attractive prices."
Mr Ray told Le Télégramme: "These are private flights with a certain number of seats which will be marketed over the counter, by the airport, at a competitive price to discover the Highlands, at the foot of Loch Ness!"
At present, Inverness Airport operates two international flights, a KLM service to Amsterdam and seasonal charter flights by TUI to Palma de Mallorca. Loganair are also due to begin operating a seasonal flight to Bergen in Norway in May next year.
