Foodies in Nairn and beyond will be in for a treat this weekend as a popular festival returns to town.

Starting today, Taste of Nairn will take over the town until Sunday with a programme of events for all tastes.

Lucy Harding, manager at Nairn Connects BID — the event’s organiser — said: “We are excited that Taste of Nairn is back and the programme is definitely something that you can get your teeth stuck into.

“We have so many interactive events which are a lot of fun and we are delighted the town’s businesses are getting involved by staging their own events or taking part in either of the two markets by spilling out into the street or creating special Taste of Nairn offers.”

The party kicks off today with some special menus and treats across some of Nairn’s most popular eateries, which will run across the weekend, topping it in the evening with jazz night at The Classroom Bistro.

Saturday is the heart of the festival with a street market with live music on the High Street and a food and drink market and an events area at the Nairn Community and Arts Centre.

On the day there will also be a showcase of culinary talent with the World Tattie Scone Championship and the Showstopper Cake Competition.

On Sunday festivalgoers can recover with the Coast Spa Open Morning at The Golf View Hotel or enjoy a drink at the Havelock Carvery.
