Inverness flat fire in Dunabban Road, Merkinch, ‘not suspicious’ say Highland Police Scotland officers
A flat fire in Inverness earlier this week was not suspicious, police have confirmed.
Three fire engines were scrambled to Dunabban Road in Merkinch shortly before 7pm on Monday after reports of a fire.
The fire began inside the living room of a second floor flat.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was subsequently extinguished and that “everyone was accounted for”. They left the scene at 8.55pm.
Police Scotland has now confirmed that the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
In a statement on Wednesday, a spokesperson for the force said: “Around 7.10pm on Monday, police received a report of a fire at a property on Dunabban Road, Inverness.
“The fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and there were no suspicious circumstances.”
