Dunabban Road, Inverness blaze ‘started in living room’, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service say





A blaze that broke out in a flat in Inverness on Monday evening started in the living room.

Residents at Dunabban Road in Merkinch were evacuated from their homes after the alarm was raised at around 7pm.

Three fire engines were at the scene to tackle the second floor blaze, but there were fortunately no casualties from the incident.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “The fire had broken out on the second floor on number 34 Dunabban Street, in the property’s living room.

“We were able to leave the scene by 8.55 pm.

“Everyone was accounted for.”
