Firefighters stand down after fire in dressing room at Clachnacuddin Football Club ground in Inverness

There are serious doubts over whether a scheduled game between Clachnacuddin FC and Formartine United will go ahead on Saturday after this morning's blaze at the Inverness ground.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called out shortly after 9.20am to a fire that has been linked to a tumble drier within a dressing room at Grant Street Park.

Four appliances were sent to the scene this morning and stood down at 10.40am.

Police also attended to support with the associated closure of Thornbush Road at the junction with Wyvis Place, extending to the junction with Kilmuir Road.

They were unable to provide information on when the road would be reopened.

While there has been no official confirmation of the cause of the fire a police spokesperson said it was not being treated as malicious.
