Fire service brings Nairn outbuilding and car blaze near the High Street under control 45 minutes after call out as Police Scotland reopen three roads near the scene

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has brought a fire in an outbuilding that spread to a nearby car near Nairn High Street under control just 45 minutes after getting the call.

The call about the blaze came in at 11.35am and the four appliances – one from Nairn, two from Inverness and one from Forres – were dispatched to the scene.

Just one appliance remains at the scene and the remainder were discharged at 12.10 with the stop coming in at 12.15 today.

Images from the scene showed plumes of smoke rising above buildings and settling in the area of the High Street.

Firefighters at the scene deployed one main jet, one hose reel jet, four breathing apparatus and a ground monitor.

It is understood that no one was hurt in the fire.

Police Scotland have reopened High Street, Rose Street and Leopold Street that were closed due to fire.
