Easter Ross firefighters were sent to an address in Balintore today following reports of a fire at a dwelling there during the early hours.

The alarm was raised at 1.29am and two crews, one from Tain and the other from Invergordon, were initially sent to the scene.

At 2.30am a second crew from Invergordon was sent to the address so that a thermal image camera could be used to check for any heat spots.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said that it was finally classed as a false alarm and they were able to leave the scene.
