Fine for Inverness man who sent abusive messages to his former partner

An Inverness man who repeatedly sent threatening text messages to his ex has been fined £300.

Liam Fitzgerald (34), of Inverlochy Crescent, admitted the offence committed between September 27 and 28 last year.

Fiscal depute Martina Eastwood told Inverness Sheriff Court that the woman started to receive the texts which alarmed her.

Mrs Eastwood gave examples of them which included”I will get anyone close to you”.

“The overall context was that he was disapproving of her new partner,” she said.

Defence solicitor Marc Dickson said: “He can’t recall making the messages.”
