Edinburgh-born Callum Beattie returned to Inverness this week to promote his new album Vandals.

In an interview with The Inverness Courier the singer-songwriter revealed that 'he wished he was from here'.

The Salamander Street star first performed in the Highland capital in 2016 when he supported KT Tunstall at the Ironworks.

He says Inverness is where his fanbase first started: “This is kind of where my fan base started really. I did a gig with KT Tunstall and then every time I come back here more and more people come to see me."

Last year, he wowed the crowds when he opened the Amy Macdonald gig at Northern Meeting Park.

He continued: "I know other artists say this but I genuinely love coming to Inverness.

“It’s an amazing place. I wish I was from here!”

He loves it so much that he is returning for a second time in a matter of months, as he will take to the stage in a sold-out gig at Inverness Ice Centre on June 3.
