Strathpeffer Pavilion announce a January gig from Toploader

Toploader will play the historic Strathpeffer Pavilion on Friday, January 29 with tickets going on sale this Wednesday.

The venue, which is gearing up for its new future under community ownership, will kick off 2021 with the top live band, inviting music fans to dance in the moonlight!

Toploader have enjoyed over two million album sales and several top 20s hits including their biggest Dancing In The Moonlight which became a global hit in 2000.

In 2013 the same track re-entered the Top 40 for three weekends and topped the 10,000,000 hits mark on Youtube, an incredible 13 years after it was first released, cementing it as one of the biggest songs of recent times.

Their debut album Onka’s Big Moka sold over one million copies going into the top five in the UK charts where it went on to receive four Brit Awards nominations.

With a reputation as a genuine crowd-pleasing live band, Toploader have also appeared at a host of festivals including Glastonbury, V-Festival, T In The Park and Belladrum Festival.

Support will come from local Ross-Shire band This Machine featuring former members of The Rites, Echo 20 and RAAR.

Chair of Strathpeffer Pavilion Community Trust, Fraser Mackenzie, said: “We are delighted to start 2021 with Toploader as one of our first ever fundraising events.

He added: “The event marks the start of a very early joint venture with High Life Highland to put the pavilion firmly back on the map within the music venue industry.

“This is hopefully the start of several nights with more top talent coming to the Highlands.”
