Fan Opinion: Aidan Griffins's thoughts after Caley v Ayr United
Saturday's 1-0 loss against Ayr United marks back-to-back defeats at the start of Caley's league campaign, and five games lost in a row after also crashing out of the League Cup group stage.
This season at The Inverness Courier we want to know the thoughts of the fans after each match, a feature that we launched after the opening league game against Queens Park.
This week we hear the thoughts of season ticket holder Aidan Griffins (22), who has followed Caley both home and away since a young age.
He went into the game as someone who lacked confidence along with many other Caley fans due to their recent form.
"The overall fan feel was far from positive on the bus to Ayr with the majority of the fans fearing another defeat.
"When you are travelling all that way to an away day like Ayr which is one of the furthest away days and spending lots of money on the club you love, you want a result."
Unfortunately Aidan's fears proved to be true after what he thought was a lacklustre performance resulting in another defeat, noting that something needs to be changed to turn things around.
"We were dreadful, the squad looks completely flat on their feet while morale seems to be down with not a lot of motivation among the squad.
"There has been no change in style after five straight defeats and it makes you wonder what actually happens in training as we keep doing the same things that just don’t work.
"Something has to change whether that’s with signings or players being dropped."
Looking forward, Aidan believes that the management and the board need to take action and make big changes to stop the poor run that he has witnessed from recent results.
"I question where they are taking our club, for a lot of us this club is our life and we are seeing one of the worst Caley teams in recent history.
"We desperately need better strategy going forward and more players in this window and if we don’t see improvements then this season looks worrying."
