Body of a man found in Craig Phadrig Woods in Inverness

A body has been found in Craig Phadrig Woods in Inverness.

Police say they found the body of a man in woods yesterday evening.

While no formal identification has taken place, a spokesman said the family of George Critch has been informed.

The 63-year-old has been missing since June 9.

After his disappearance, police conducted a major search around the Great Glen Way.

A police spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm the body of a man was found near to Great Glen Way within Craig Phadrig Woods, Inverness, around 7pm on Wednesday, 7 July, 2021.

"Formal identification has still to take place, however the family of George Critch (63) who had been reported missing from the Kinmylies area of Inverness on Wednesday, 9 June, 2021, have been informed.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
