Extreme swimmer Ross Edgley receiving hospital treatment as he reveals epic Loch Ness endurance record attempt 'didn’t entirely go to plan'

AN extreme swimmer who took on an epic endurance challenge in Loch Ness is receiving hospital treatment.
Ross Edgley was battling to break the record for the longest ever tideless open-water swim.
In an update report on his social media pages, the plucky campaigner posted: "Thank you SO much for all the kind messages of support.
"As you can probably tell the swim didn’t entirely go to plan.
"Will update properly later but wanted to publish a HUGE post of gratitude to everyone and say A GIANT thank you to my AMAZING support team."

The attempt was to raise awareness for new Talisker Whisky x Parley project to protect Scottish waters.
The long-distance swimmer and passionate environmentalist started his swim on Wednesday at 8.51am and had yesterday clocked up an amazing 49 hours at the most recent update report.
Overcoming some challenging conditions with 20 knot winds on the first night and choppy waters, temperatures had dropped to a chilly five degrees celsius.
His efforts have inspired huge public support.
"The amount You put your body through, it's no wonder you’re in hospital," posted .Arturo Bugaoan. "You’re the real life Ironman, just without the suit. You’re a British legend. Hope you repair up and get well soon. All the best Ross, we all look forward to your next adventure."
Sue Thornley added: "Glad you are safe get well soon- you are such an inspiration xx".
