THREE additional overnight closures will be in place on a major Highland trunk road junction to complete road works.

BEAR Scotland have announced that for operational reasons, the additional overnight closures of the A9/B817 junction south of Evanton will be required to complete ongoing road surfacing improvements.

The works, which were scheduled to be complete by Friday, July 22, will require further work which will commence from Monday, August 8.

A BEAR Scotland Spokesperson said: "Works will take place between 7pm and 7am, with all works now expected to be complete by 7am Thursday August 11, subject to weather conditions.

"To protect our roadworkers as well as motorists, a diversion route via the junction at Skiach Services will be utilised to maintain local access to and from the A9. The A9/B817 junction will be open to traffic outwith working hours."

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times and all relevant stakeholders have been informed of the changes.
