A report to the Inverness city committee is to highlight additional work needed to improve accessibility to the controversial artwork

Members will be advised that officers will now explore further options with partners to fund the changes.

Highland Council's Inverness Area Committee agreed in August that work should continue on the artwork despite widespread protest about costs and possible environmental impact.

However a number of conditions were also agreed including no further commitment of public funds; that the programme should be completed within the 12-18 month timescale; and that full accessibility must be built into the plans.

Members at a meeting next Thursday will also be asked to note and scrutinise the report, note the adjustments required for the Inverness River Art Project Programme to meet the recommendations made in August’s meeting and thank Creative Scotland and partners for their continuing support.

My Ness is the centrepiece of the River Ness Public Art Project Programme.

The changes planned to it will mean that the remaining individual projects of the trail and a planned Children’s Water Feature can no longer be progressed.
