A Loch Ness attraction which is one of the most visited Historic Environment Scotland sites in the country will be closed for several days in early November.

Historic Environment Scotland has warned visitors that Urquhart Castle, near Drumnadrochit, will be shut from Monday to Wednesday, November 4 to 6 inclusive.

It will reopen on Thursday, November 7.

Historic Environment Scotland said the closure was to allow for "essential maintenance work" at the popular site.
