A96 crash closes Inverness-Aberdeen trunk road west of Forres; Police Scotland in attendance says Traffic Scotland

The A96 trunk road has been closed in both directions following a collision, Traffic Scotland has warned.
The busy route, which links Inverness and Aberdeen, was closed west of Forres on Monday morning.
In a post on Twitter, posted shortly after 7.30am, Traffic Scotland warned: "[The road] is closed in both directions due to a collision. Traffic is heavy in the area.
"Police are in attendance."
They added: “Road users should seek an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the scene at around 7.10am, with three appliances initially despatched - from Inverness, Nairn and Forres. Only one of these was still on scene at 8.45am.
It was not known at the time of writing if anyone was injured or the number of vehicles involved.
Police have been approached for further details.
