TIME is running out for election candidates to put their name forward for a vacant ward seat at Highland Council.

The Inverness Central ward is currently a member short following the resignation of SNP councillor Richard Laird, who was one of three councillors representing the area.

The other ward members are councillors Janet Campbell (independent) and Bet McAllister (Scottish Labour Party).

Prospective candidates hoping to represent the ward alongside councillors Campbell and McAllister only have until 4pm on Monday, October 14 to submit their nomination forms.

Nomination forms and the Notice of Election are available on Highland Council’s website.
