Eight more people test positive for coronavirus in the NHS Highland area

There have been a further eight confirmed diagnoses of coronavirus in the NHS Highland area in the past 24 hours.

The figure is double that of both daily increases reported on both Friday and Saturday this week.

It means the tally for the NHS Highland area since the start of the pandemic has increased to 489.

Some 244 people have tested positive across Scotland in the last 24 hours, taking the national total to 22,679.

There have been no more reported deaths of people who have tested positive.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian also had eight new recorded cases in the past day, taking its tally to 2011.
