Preston joiner thrown out of Nairn nightspot after derogatory slur to woman

A joiner from the Preston area got very drunk in Nairn after work and had to be thrown out of a local nightspot.

Daniel Idle, of Chorley Lane, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted being disorderly in Uncle Bob's on April 12.

Sheriff Sara Matheson was told that the 36-year-old father-of-two had become aggressive towards two women used a derogatory slur related to the transgender people when reference one of them.

Idle was also challenging people to fight and as he was leaving, he threw a plastic sign at staff. He was then ejected from the premises.

His solicitor advocate Mike Chapman said: "He has no recollection of this. He summed up his own behaviour as stupid. He went out after work and drank too much."

The sheriff asked Idle if he had a drink problem as he had several previous convictions involving drunken behaviour.

Idle replied: "No. I don't drink that much but when I do I drink too much."

He was fined £640.
