Gillingham man jailed after falling asleep in Rose Street Foundry bar then threatening to ‘batter door staff’ after returning to Inverness following death of mother
A former Inverness man who returned to drinking alcohol to excess after his mother died was jailed for five months after threatening door security staff at an Inverness bar.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that 39-year-old William Jardine, from Maple Avenue, in Gillingham had returned to Inverness to visit family and to consider where to scatter his mum's ashes.

But he got very drunk in the Rose Street Foundry bar just after midnight on September 6 and fell asleep, fiscal depute Eilidh Gunn said.
The bar didn't have door stewards and called for assistance from nearby staff at another premises to help remove him.
Ms Gunn added: "He started swinging punches and he had an unopened wine bottle which he was holding above his head in a threatening manner. They thought he was going to throw it at them.
"Police had been called and removed the bottle from him but he told officers that he would return and batter door staff."
Jardine admitted threatening or abusive behaviour and, because of his previous criminal record, was jailed for five months, backdated to September 9 when he was remanded in custody.
