Inverness drug-driver told ‘cannabis can hang around for ages’

Police officers who stopped a car in Inverness discovered that the driver had cannabis in his system.

Kennan Craig's appearance at Inverness Sheriff Court to admit the February 17 offence prompted a warning from the bench.

Sheriff Gary Aitken told the 26-year-old: "The sad reality is that some people think they can calculate when they can drive after taking alcohol and occasionally they are right.

"But drugs are an absolute lottery as cannabis can hang around for ages."

Craig pleaded guilty to driving with 2.3mcgs of cannabis in his system when the legal driving limit is 2mcgs. He was fined £640 and banned from driving for a year.
