Inverness driver crashed partner’s car into a tree after taking it without permission

A provisional driving licence holder took his partner's car for a spin without her permission and crashed it into a fence and a tree, Inverness Sheriff Court was told.

Thomas Brown, of Culduthel Park, Inverness drove the car on April 2 from Slackbuie to Torbreck where it left the road.

The 34-year-old admitted taking and driving away the vehicle, driving carelessly and without insurance and was fined £640.

He was also banned from driving for two-and-a-half years as Sheriff David Harvie noted that Brown had similar previous convictions.
