A man who drove for a second time while under the influence of drugs has been ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid community work as punishment.

Michael Logan (52) of Station View, Muir of Ord was stopped in his car by police in Glendoe Terrace in Inverness on June 12 last year for a routine check.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that officers smelled cannabis.

A subsequent test showed Logan was three-and-a-half times the safe level to drive his car.

The reading was 7mcgs of a cannabis metabolyte, when the limit is 2mcgs.

Logan admitted a charge of drug driving.
