Driver (18) arrested after woman pedestrian (71) seriously injured in Inverness collision
An 18-year-old driver has been arrested after a woman pedestrian was seriously injured in an incident in Inverness yesterday.
Road policing officers have issued an appeal for information following the serious collision involving a red Mazda 3 car and the 71-year-old pedestrian in Thornbush Road, Merkinch, shortly after 5.20pm.

She suffered serious injuries and was taken for treatment at Raigmore Hospital.
No one from the Mazda was injured.
Police Scotland said the 18-year-old male driver of the car has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and inquiries are ongoing.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay, of the Highland and Islands Road Policing Unit, said: “Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision.
“We would be particularly keen to speak to a potential witness who was the driver of an unidentified silver or grey saloon style car which passed shortly before the incident happened, or to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.”
