A Nairn man who got drunk in a local pub and refused to leave, attacked one of the staff.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Alfred Annand (33) of Merryton Crescent, bit the barman’s arm after twice trying to punch him, but missed.

The incident took place in Uncle Bob’s on March 18 after Annand had been playing pool.

Fiscal depute Martina Eastwood said staff tried to get him to leave.

Annand admitted threatening behaviour and refusing to leave licensed premises.

He was ordered to pay his victim £600 in compensation.
