A 34 year old woman confessed to police she had drunk three double vodkas before getting into her car to drive.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Elaine Mackenzie of Caberfeidh Drive, Invergordon was spotted at 3pm on MIllburn Road, Inverness on November 17, 2021.
Sheriff Ian Crucikshank was told that she had been stopped at a red light and making hand signals in apparent frustration, fiscal depute Karen Poke said.
She then accelerated past the junction of Morrison's supermarket and police were called, the prosecutor added.
Mackenzie admitted driving with excess alcohol. Her reading was 75mcgs when the legal limit is 22mcgs.
She was fined £640 and banned from driving for a year. But the Sheriff certified her suitable for a drink drive rehabilitation course. If she successfully completes it, she will get a three month discount on her disqualification.
