Drew you think he’s sexy?
BORED with Brexit? Had an earful of the economy?
Then perhaps a more frivolous diversion on the political scene would be to check out who are the MPs rated most desirable on an online survey.
The website sexymps.co.uk was set up by Francis Boulle, star of TV series Made in Chelsea, who said he wanted to create a “fun and memorable tool to help the British public get to know their Members of Parliament”.
He added: “Although I fully expect this to offend some people, this was never my intention and I hope you will see the funny side. Enjoy.”
Visitors to the site are confronted by headshots of two MPs chosen at random and they must select the one they would most like to sleep with. A score is then calculated looking at how many votes they have won and lost.
There is a section for male, female and one for MPs of both sexes.
The league positions the Highland News used are from the mixed table, and because they fluctuate considerably from day to day, yesterday’s figures have been used.
Leading the mixed survey at in top spot was Richard Drax, Conservative for South Dorset, while last out of 645 MPs was Orkney and Shetland Liberal Democrat MP Alistair Carmichael.
Top woman, and lying in second overall, was Eilidh Whiteford, the SNP’s Banff and Buchan representative.
So how do the Highland and Islands MPs fare in this bizarre if rather random “beauty contest”.
The Western Isles’ youthful man in Westminster Angus MacNeill is currently in the lead at number 492.
Inverness SNP MP Drew Hendry is now at number 546, Paul Monaghan SNP’s representative for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross 558th, while party colleague Ian Blackford, Ross, Skye and Lochaber sat at 619.
Other notable positions, according to the website yesterday, were Prime Minister Theresa May at 292, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn in 488th place, and Boris Johnson at 259.
Westminster warrior, Labour’s Dennis Skinner dubbed the Beast of Bolsover was at number 603, ahead of Alex Salmond at 617.
