Double joy for business director who scoops Highland business of the year, and becomes dad on same day

An Inverness business has scooped not just one, but two awards at an annual ceremony.

RI Cruden was named Highland business of the year and picked up the environmental sustainability award at the Highland Business Awards 2023.

The mechanical and renewable business was crowned at the ceremony at the Kingsmills Hotel, with the award judges telling RI Cruden the work they do for others is inpsiring.

On receiving the award, company director Rory Cruden said: "It's certainly very unexpected, thank you very much everyone. It's a huge honour.

"It's great to be a part of this awards ceremony today. I just want to give a really big shoutout to our incredible team who have built up everything over the last few years.

"This is a family affair. Our growth plans are to train our own, and support people in the Highlands."

For one member of RI Cruden, the day was even more special, as not only did his business win the awards, but he also became a father to a new daughter on the same day.

RI Cruden director, Callum Cruden said: "What a day!

"It started with my amazing wife bringing our baby daughter into the world followed by RI Cruden Ltd Mechanical, Electrical & Renewables winning Highland business of the year!

"So proud, feeling very blessed and overwhelmed.

"Baby and mum are both doing great."
