A popular lochside inn will remain closed as a search for a missing Polish man continues.

Dores Inn, which had been due to open this afternoon, said it would be providing hot drinks for emergency services combing the area for a man who fell from a boat on Loch Ness yesterday.

In a message on Facebook staff at the Dores Inn said: "We are extremely sorry to disappoint so many but unfortunately due to a very tragic incident we’ve decided we will not be opening.

"We will update you all later on this evening in regards to opening.

"We are deeply saddened and our thoughts are with everyone involved.

"Toilets will be open and complimentary hot drinks available for all the emergency services working out in Dores today."

Emergency services including a specialist police diving team are continuing to search the area around the Dores beach.

It is understood a second man who was rescued from the water after jumping in to help his friend yesterday is being treated at Raigmore Hospital.
