Track inspection leads to halt on Scotrail services between Inverness and Perth with revisions on the Glasgow Queen Street line
TRAIN journeys between Inverness, Perth and Glasgow are facing major disruption with lines being closed for safety inspections earlier this morning.
Scotrail have announced in the morning that all lines will be closed for checks between Inverness and Carrbridge and all stations between Perth and Inverness will not be served.
Disruption is expected to last until around 10am today.
A Scotrail spokesperson said: "We have had reports of a possible track defect between Carrbridge and Inverness.
"For safety reasons services will be unable to run through these stations. Staff are now on site carrying out the safety inspection. Once we have more details, we'll update this message."
Train services between Glasgow Queen Street and Inverness are returning to normal but some services have been revised.
