A collapsed manhole is causing disruption for drivers on the outskirts of Inverness.
With a full emergency repair required on the BT apparatus and manhole cover, motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
The damage is located on the eastbound carriageway of the B9006 Culloden Road, travelling towards Culloden Moor, before the junction with the B9177 (Old Perth Road).
A Highland Council spokesman said: “Currently a works vehicle is protecting the collapsed manhole and temporary traffic lights are being put in place for required repairs.
“Motorists are advised to take alternative routes where possible.
“Further updates will be provided in due course.”
