Detectives in Inverness are investigating the serious assault of a 50-year-old man near the city centre.

Police Scotland has issued an appeal to the public to help with information on the incident in Tomnahurich Street late on Thursday evening.
A dedicated team of officers has been assembled to work on the case, with the force keen to “reassure the community” after the serious attack.
A police presence on the street, close to an alleyway called May Court, has been maintained since the incident with a section of pavement cordoned off.
A police spokesman said: “Around 10.15pm on Thursday, 13 February, 2025, we received a report of a 50-year-old man seriously injured on Tomnahurich Street, Inverness.
“Emergency services attended and the man was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.
Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Detective Inspector Calum Reid said: “A dedicated team of officers are working on this and I would like to reassure the community that we are doing everything we can to trace whoever is responsible.
"Extensive enquiries are ongoing including reviewing CCTV and going door to door.
"I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the assault and have not already spoken to police to contact us.
"I would also like to hear from anyone who has dash cam, private CCTV or doorbell footage around the time of the incident.
“Officers will remain in the area while enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with any information, or any concerns, can speak to them.”
