Delays hit both arrivals and departures at Inverness Airport

There were delays for both departures and arrivals at Inverness Airport today as winter tightened its icy grip.

As ice and heavy fog enveloped the Highland capital the 6.40am flight to London Gatwick was delayed until 10.30am.

The 7.05am flight to Heathrow was delayed for almost an hour, finally managing to get off the ground at 8.02am.

And the 8.45am to Stornoway service was expected to be boarding shortly with the 9.10am Isle Of Man Ronaldsway flight also now boarding.

So far there has only been one delayed arrival – the 8.15am from Stornoway, which landed at 8.48am.
