HIGHLAND tourism can look forward to a major economic boost thanks to a deal that is set to bring hundreds of extra Chinese visitors to the Loch Ness area.

Tourism ambassador Willie Cameron of Loch Ness Marketing has signed an agreement with Nanhu Travel to continue hosting Chinese visitors in the area until December 2020.

Extending a deal first signed with the Chinese travel agent last year, it will mean around 1500 extra visitors between now and then, which a leading city economist has estimated could equate to up to £350,000 for the local economy.
