Deadline looming to provide views on Highland services
Highland Council is reminding residents, businesses and community organisations about the opportunity to provide feedback on people’s experience of living in Highland, and on access to services.
The Place Standard consultation is looking for feedback on what makes for a good place to live, work, play, and visit.
It asks questions about experiences of living in the Highlands in a bid to help shape future plans and inform how communities might be improved through a new Local Development Plan for the region.
A separate consultation on Local Living – which closes on August 16 – is being run to help understand the current service provision and access to services across Highland.
It scores the accessibility of 16 different services, for example shops, greenspace, leisure and schools, in over 120 Highland settlements. The consultation asks about how the services have been scored before it is used in the council’s new Local Development Plan.
An interactive Local Living map is available here and the consultation is available here.
Residents, businesses and community organisations are encouraged to provide feedback to ensure their views are considered.
