Customers give thanks for years of good service as award-winning Black Isle cafe prepares to close its doors

AN award-winning Black Isle restaurant set to close its doors for the last time today has been thanked for its service by customers from down the years.
Fortrose Cafe, located on the town's High Street, opened in 2014.
It had flagged its closure earlier this week and posted today that it will shut the doors for the last time at 4pm today.

The cafe posted: "I would like to thank the staff, past and present, for all their hard work and contribution to the business.
"A huge thank you to all our lovely customers who have supported the cafe since we opened in 2014. Much love to you all."
Verity Walker Eley posted: "What an asset you have been to this village. Thank you for all your hard work."
Rona Campbell stated: "Best scones and fantastic breakfast - thanks and all the best x."
Mel Langille said: "You guys have been amazing. Thank YOU! I am so sad to see the café is closing its doors. It and, more importantly, all of you will be hugely missed. You've given us all so much."

In 2018 the cafe was named Scotland’s best choice for casual dining at the third Scottish Hospitality Awards.
It won the north casual dining title at the awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow Hotel, before going on to beat the three other regional winners to the overall Scottish title.
Owner Janet Gray at the time admitted that even when she looked at the official winners photographs from the night, she found it hard to believe they had won both the local and Scottish titles.
"It came as a complete surprise," she said.
