The National Trust for Scotland’s Culloden Battlefield is saying thanks to local communities next month.

It is offering free pre-booked entry to its award-winning Visitor Centre on Saturday, November 28, and Sunday, November 29, between 10am and 4pm.

The move follows successes in previous years and the team at the site is holding another Community Thank You Day together with a Christmas Fair this autumn.

Over the weekend, anyone with an IV, PH, KW or AB postcode will be given free entry to this exciting day, all inspired by the ’45 and Culloden.

Residents need to pre-book their slots online ahead of time and bring proof of their address with them to gain free access to the exhibition and events.

Organisers will be following the latest government guidelines regarding Covid-19 which will include social distancing and mandatory face coverings while inside the building – there will be a one-way system round the fair which will be inside the Visitor Centre.

Throughout the day visitors will be able to look around the museum, the award-winning shop, and tour the battlefield – and also have a chance to visit the Christmas Fair which is free to attend.

Raoul Curtis-Machin, Culloden's operations manager, said: “We’re so proud to play our part in protecting this important part of Scotland’s heritage and we really appreciate the support of local communities in enabling us to do all we do, for the love of Scotland.

"We look forward to welcoming as many of our local community as possible. This is a bookable event and you can find out more on our website . In order to manage numbers, we ask that you book your time slot for the museum. Slots are every half hour and the museum follows a one-way system to guide you through the history of the site. Simply select the total number of adult and child tickets that you require for your group to secure your space."

Remember if you have an IV. PH, or AB postcode you can attend all these events, the battlefield tours and head into the exhibition free – just bring proof of address! It makes a great day out this November. For more information visit here .
