POLICE have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses after a man attempted to enter a vehicle while it was stationary at a junction and, shockingly - while it had passengers inside.

The incident happened on the A831 junction with the A833, near Beauly between 6pm and 6.30pm on Tuesday November 2.

The man is described as white, 40s, around 6 feet tall of medium/stocky build and square face, dark stubble and short dark hair.

A police spokesman said: "Witness appeal - A831 junction with A833, near Beauly.

"On the 2nd of November 2021 between 6pm and 6:30pm police received a report of a man acting suspiciously at this junction and attempted to enter a vehicle which was waiting at the give way to turn.

"The man is described as white, 40s, around 6 feet tall of medium/stocky build and square face, dark stubble and short dark hair. He was wearing a grey zipped up hooded top with a round logo on it or similar and bright orange high vis trousers with silver banding round the legs.

"If anyone has any information or has dashcam footage from the area at the time please contact police on 101 quoting reference number 3329 of the 2nd of November. This can also be done anonymously through Crimestoppers.

"Thank you."
