Writers, illustrators and publishers invited to get involved in Inverness book festival.

The voluntary-run grassroots festival takes place from October 1-3 but the deadline for submissions is February 20.

“After that, our busy volunteers will sift through all the entries and decide which authors and artists are a good fit for our programme,” a spokeswoman said.

“It’s an excellent chance to secure a paid appearance at a fantastic festival with a growing reputation for its friendly vibe and its platform for emerging writers, alongside more established names.”

Entries should be 150 words about the book/publication and no more than 300 words about the proposed event, including target audience.

“The quirkier and more interesting the event, the better,” the spokeswoman said.

“We are looking for events that have the 'wow-effect'.”

Further details are on the festival’s social media.

Entries should be emailed to nbfinverness@gmail.com under the subject, Pitch.
