Concerns have been raised about the future of Inverness's Revolution Bar after its owners unveiled plans to close six of its sites.

No details have been released as to which of Revolutions Bars; 50 sites are at risk, but the closures are believed to threaten some 130 jobs.

The Inverness bar on Church Street, which is one of five Revolution Bars in Scotland, announced its temporary closure on October 8 after the Scottish Government declared a short-term ban on indoor alcohol sales.

Creditors will vote on November 13 on the proposed closures and plans to reduce rents at seven sites, as Revolution Bars Limited introduces a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) in a cut to cut costs.

Chief executive Rob Pitcher said the move would help safeguard the future of the group and improve long-term performance.

The company has reported a fall in sale to less than half of last year's levels, at 49.4 per cent, following the introduction of the UK wide 10pm curfew, and predicts it will be unlikely to return to near normal levels before spring at the earliest.
