Ladislav Hafera has been ordered to carry out 135 hours of unpaid community work.

Currently unemployed it was explained in court how he had swapped a previous alcohol dependency for a heroin addiction

Sentence had been deferred last month for a background report on the 35-year-old of Rosehaugh Road, Inverness after he admitted being in possession of 27.6 grams of heroin at his home on April 1 last year, with intent to supply.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told police officers had visited Hafera’s home on that date on another matter and were invited inside.

But Hafera had left the class A drug – valued at £800 – in clear view within his home and was arrested.
