COURT ROUND-UP: Assault in prison and £200,000 cocaine haul among last week’s Inverness court business
A mix of criminal cases were dealt with at Inverness Sheriff Court last week.

Two Inverness prisoners fell out as one kept the other awake at night in the cell they shared.
But it was lights out for the annoying cellmate on January 10 this year when 42-year-old Owen Grant punched him once in the face, knocking the man unconscious and leaving his victim with a deep cut to his face and cheek.

Sheriff Gary Aitken addressed 19-year-old Grant McPhee and his 18-year-old brother Donald in the dock of Inverness Sheriff Court after taking additional time to consider his sentence following their guilty pleas tendered last month to a total of 11 charges committed in Fort William and Oban.

Cocaine worth more than £200,000 has been recovered by police in a raid on the A9.
A 33 year-old man was arrested and charged following the drugs discovery on Wednesday this week.
Sentence has been deferred for a psychiatric report on a 40-year-old sex offender after he twice failed to comply with registration requirements.
David Geddes, of Hawthorn Drive, Inverness had previously admitted the two offences plus a charge of threatening behaviour towards two detective constables who had gone to check on him on October 5 this year.

A man who preyed on the young teenage victim he was babysitting has narrowly avoided jail.
Phil Moir (41) was charged with sexual assault of a minor.
