A man who had stayed out of trouble for “a number of years” found himself back in the dock of the city’s sheriff court.

Hugh Bruce (48) of Columba Road, Inverness, admitted two charges of threatening or abusive behaviour involving a woman and another man.

On September 10 last year he threatened violence against the woman in a lane between the city’s Bruce Gardens and St Fergus Drive.

Then on November 26 he contacted the woman, in breach of a bail condition.

Bruce also admitted shouting and swearing at the woman and her male companion in Columba Road on May 19, 2021.

Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood called for a background report.

He said: “He seems to have been out of trouble for a number of years and now has spectacularly breached that.”

Bruce will reappear for sentence on October 21.
