Couple set to renew their vows 21 years after tying the knot at Belladrum Temple

A Dunfermline couple “can’t wait” to celebrate 21 years of marriage - by renewing their vows where they first tied the knot at Belladrum Temple.

After they started dating it took two weeks for Callum Leitch to ask Gillian to move in with him, and only three weeks to ask her to marry him.

“When we fell in love, we fell deeply head over heels,” said Calum.

Gillian recalled: “Once I accepted his proposal, we immediately started to plan the ideal wedding and because we had both lost our parents, we decided we wanted this to be for us two.

“I had a fantasy that I wanted it to be outdoors, and we came across Belladrum estate’s website. The picture of the temple came up. It was perfect.

“The date was set, and on August 15, 2003, we got married. We spent a weekend around Loch Ness, it was all about us and it was amazing.”

The following year, the Belladrum Tartan Heart festival was organised for the very first year, and Gillian and Callum, both keen music fans, became regular festivalgoers for the following decade.

However, because of the pandemic and after Callum was diagnosed with stage five prostate cancer - from which he is recovering - the couple has not been able to return to this special place for many years.

Now, the couple is set to make a big comeback to Belladrum as they were the winners of a full wedding package at Belladrum Temple. This time, the couple will be joined by a small group of friends for an unforgettable day on July 27, just as the 2024 music event draws to a close.

Along with the romantic ceremony and champagne reception, there will be a honeymoon suite glamping package, festival weekend camping tickets for guests, festival merchandise and a hamper of luxury local produce and treats.

There will also be money-can’t-buy side-stage viewing of festival performances and a dedicated on-site wedding coordinator.

After so many years together, the two are still deeply in love with each other.

Callum agreed: “We never get tired of each other, and we spend very little time apart. We just love being together.”

“He just knows how to make me laugh. Every day, I fall in love with him more,” said Gillian.
