Highland Council has vowed to share the latest information on reopening schools with parents, pupils and teachers.
The commitment came hours after technical faults meant the public could not watch the local authority's education committee discuss its plans.
Schools across the region have been closed since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
They are due to reopen on August 12, with the council planning for three scenarios and implementation will be dependent on Scottish Government advice at the time.
Following the committee meeting, Paul Senior, the council's executive chief officer for education and learning, said: "We understand the importance of communication and we are working hard to share up to date information with everyone concerned.”
He stressed the priority while planning reopening schools was the safety and wellbeing of our pupils and staff.
Committee chairman John Finlayson thanked staff for their hard work on developing the plans.
He said: “This is an immense and complex task as the national guidance and the health situation continues to evolve. I understand that parents, staff and young people may be feeling anxious as well as looking forward to getting back to school in August.”
