Cost of upgrading six mile section of the A9 to now cost £308million according to Scottish Government report
The cost of upgrading a six mile section of the A9 is now expected to cost £111m more than originally estimated.
The total cost of the Tomatin to Moy dualling is set to to run to £308m, according to a Scottish government report.
The report said an initial estimated total cost of dualling the section of £197m later rose to £254m and then in July this year to £308m.
The increase in the revised cost is linked to inflationary effects and the cost of the change in contract strategy following the decision not to make an award under the previous procurement.
Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Ltd was awarded the contract in July 2024.
Earlier this month it was said that “the expected dualling operational date is slightly later than the anticipated date of by the end of 2027.”
