Cost of living support event set to take place in Inverness
A Highland MSP is hosting a Cost of Living event to get organisations from across Inverness together and show people what is out there to support them.
The event organised by SNP MSP Emma Roddick will take place on August 28 at the Spectrum Centre and will see organisations in attendance to help with issues such as housing, energy, benefit applications, and mental health support.
It is designed as a drop-in event, with members of the public able to drop-in between 1pm - 4pm to ask for advice or meet members of the team from different local organisations.
Speaking on the event, Emma said: “Folk are going through such a challenging time at the minute with the cost-of-living crisis which is continuing to impact things like food, housing, energy prices, and I know this can take a toll, and it often feels like there is no one out there to help you.
“While I hold regular constituency surgeries in the area and often sign-post people on to these fantastic organisations for further advice or support, I think there is so much benefit in getting everyone together in one room.
“That’s why I am really excited to be hosting this event with a number of local organisations who care so deeply about the work they do.
“Whether you are currently struggling with an issue or just want to say hello to some of the team from these organisations, I hope everyone feels able to come along.
“You can drop-in throughout the afternoon to pick up a leaflet, have a general chat about support on offer, or if you are struggling, my team will be on hand to make sure you can get the help you need.
“It is so important to work together as everyone involved has the same common goal to support people across the area and I hope this event will show folk all the amazing organisations who go above and beyond to help our local communities.”
